The NIU Libraries subscribes to a funding search database titled Funding Institutional, which can be found on the library's website by searching under the Database tab. Directions for accessing the database are included there as well. NIU Libraries also offer the Huskie Commons institutional repository to host scholarly materials and creative works produced by the NIU community. This may help faculty meet funding agency open access requirements or otherwise provide access to their scholarship record.

A new Facilities Considerations Guidelines checklist is now available to assist investigators in planning grant-funded projects that involve building renovations or the installation of new equipment. Early planning for these activities can help ensure that your project is appropriately scoped and that all renovations can be successfully implemented once funding is awarded. Accurate scoping is especially important to avoid unexpected costs, minimize project delays and ensure compliance with safety, regulatory and university infrastructure requirements. Facilities staff are available to support investigators in planning the scope and estimating costs for renovations. These discussions should take place as early as possible in the planning process. To initiate a discussion with facilities staff, investigators should submit a NIU work request.
