Principal Investigators access their project budget information using the PeopleSoft Financial Summary Report (FSR). You can access the current month-end Financial Summary Report (FSR), as well as the reports going back 12 months.

If you are working remotely, you will need to connect on VPN prior to accessing your FSR. Learn more about accessing the VPN.

Enter your NIU ID and password in the access query box. You will then be directed to a reports page, with a Grant drop-down box for all your grant reports.

In addition to the Financial Summary Report you will also have access to all related financial systems reports:

• Personnel Detail (HRS)
• Financial Detail – Obligations (OBL)
• Financial Detail – Period Actuals (PRD)

Be aware that report access occurs only as your first month’s expenditures final report is available. To see the report posting schedule, check the Controller's Office's latest report posting information.

Specific questions regarding the status of your grant project funds should be directed to your Grants and Contracts Associate (GCA). If you don’t have the name of your GCA, or are having problems accessing the FSR, please contact Sponsored Programs Administration at 753-1576, or via e-mail at GrantsFiscal@niu.edu.
